Inky fun with Christmas Cards

It's that time of year again when we get into the Christmas crafting mood.
I had a great group of ladies in the studio this past weekend to get inky and make some Christmas cards. We used Distress Inks and Oxide to make the backgrounds and then embossed some die cuts for some extra dimension.
Look at all the colour and variation in these cards.

Gel Plate workshop

It was great getting back to Gel Plate printing again with this group of women earlier this week. Lot's of prints were made with a few being finished and a few still going to be worked on some more. The colours and patterns are always so inspiring to me.

Have you tried Gel Plate printing yet? If you haven't you really should. I've probably said it before but it is one of my favourite things to get lost in at the moment. The rest of the world can wait while I play with my Gel Plate!

Junk Journals

Last weekends workshop was full to the brim with a great group of very creative women. We all made some fun and funky Junk Journals.
They are so much fun to make and a great way to use up some of all that paper you have stashed away. I know you all have a good stash you want to use. This book is filled with just about any kind of paper imaginable. It may be small at only 6"x6" but it's chunky at 2" thick so it packs a good punch.
Just look at all this lovely. I should have taken more pic of the inside but didn't think of it until they were gone. They are so amazing inside and out.

I love seeing how all the books turn out so uniquely the persons style.

Next up on the schedule is Gel Plate Layers workshop on Tuesday April 3. This is a favourite of mine. It's always fun to have some Gel Plate printing time.

Gelli Plate fun

Have I told you how much I love playing with the Gelli Plate!! It's even more fun when I have students here learning to play along with me. Today's group of ladies did a great job of the Gelli Plate Layers workshop. In this workshop we go beyond the basics. We explore how to build up layers and be more intentional with our paint placement.

Button and Lace Trees

I had a great time this past weekend teaching this small group of ladies how to make Button and Lace Trees. This was such a fun way to get in the holiday spirit. I just love doing these trees. The ladies did a fantastic job.

Workshop time again.

I don't know if you noticed or not but I took a little time off of teaching workshops. Sometimes we all need a little time to reboot to get the creativity going again, some time to just play and create on ones own. I don't always know when I'm playing/creating if it will be something I will do for a workshop or not. This little  'Joy in Bloom' canvas was a fun one to make and I was happy to be able to teach it.

Yesterday I had three wonderful ladies in to create with me. They did a wonderful job of making it their own.

Faux metal embossing workshop

The workshops have started for the year already here in the studio. I had a great day with these two lovely ladies last weekend. It was the first time teaching this Faux metal embossing technique and they did a great job. Don't you just love their designs!

Coaster workshop

Great fun in the studio yesterday with a group of ladies doing Marble tile coasters. Although it was a full class I didn't remember to take photos until a couple had already left so here a just a few of the finished ones.

It was a little tricky getting good photo's while they're still wet but you can see how awesome they were. Hmm I have a few coasters left...I wonder if anyone would like some for Christmas gifts!!

More fun with texture paste.

Have I mentioned that the Textured Grid Canvas workshop is my favourite workshop right now. Well if I haven't, now you know. I had a great little group of ladies in the studio today with so much creative power. Again some amazing results from this workshop.

I just can't get enough of all these texture pastes. I'm in the process of trying out some more brands of texture paste because apparently if I see it have to buy it. I have a few more coming my way in the near future so I see some new projects happening in my future.

All about the texture paste...

Last weekends workshop was the Grid Canvas. It's all about texture paste. I think it's my favourite workshop to teach this year. I love playing with texture paste and it's so interesting to see the creative variations that my students do. And you know how I'm always saying my students inspire me so much. Well this time was no exception and the canvas above is one I finished a few days later from some of the sample grids I did during class. It's called 'Longing for summer' because that's how I'm feeling right now.
Here are the canvas' of my students that day.

Didn't they do a great job? Just looking at them makes me want to get more paste out and play. But not today, I'm getting ready to teach a Memory Frame necklace workshop at the Goulbourn Museum tomorrow.

Now that you're inspired, the new spring/summer workshop is up on the workshop page. Take a look and let me know what you think. Anything you were hoping to do but is not on the schedule? Let me know. Also I'd love to hear from you about when you like to take workshops. Do you like weekends(Saturday or Sunday), weekday, evenings? Do you like full days, half days or just a few hours for workshops? I've been doing mostly Saturday full days but would really like to hear what you would like most. Thanks ahead for the feedback.
