Where was I?

Okay it's your final chance to leave a comment on where you think I was last weekend to win a tag.
Yes we were in Ontario.
We had a tour of this winery and I discovered that I do like Ice Wine!
You have until 3:00pm today to leave a comment and then I'll pick the winner!
Good Luck.

Win a tag.

Yes there is still time to win a tag. All you have to do is take a look at this weeks photo's from my weekend away and make a comment trying to guess where I was and you'll be entered to win a tag. Everyone that leaves a comment will be entered but if you guess correctly you'll get 2 entries. Tomorrow morning I'll put some photo's on that have a clue or two to help you if you haven't already figured it out. You have till 3 tomorrow to leave a comment. The trees in the background here is the reason why they are able to grow grapes here.
And unlike where we went last year at this time there were still some grapes left on the vines.
And yes we did have a taste or two of wine. Although the Tinman had more since I was the designated driver.

We saw these...
And these...
And more of these!!
Okay you've probably guessed a bit about where we were but can you pinpoint exactly where we were. You have until Friday to make a comment and be entered to win a tag.

I'll have more photo's tomorrow. Maybe some hidden clues too!

Sorry I forgot...

I forgot my cord for downloading pictures while we were away so I wasn't able to share our experience first hand. So I think I'll prolong it even more. And for some fun let's see who can guess where we were. I'm going to add pictures throughout the week to see if you can figure it out. Anyone that leaves a guess in the comments will have a chance to win a tag. If you guess correctly you will have 3 chances to win the tag. You have till Friday to make your comments.

Good luck.

Harvest time.

Okay after having said yesterday that fall is not my favourite time of year, today almost makes me want to change my mind. Yesterday was a wet dreary day but I did make it to a local produce market to pick up some fresh veggies. Today is wonderfully sunny and as you can see I've started my tomatoes stewing for the day. I didn't get many tomatoes from my own garden this year but luckily Rideau Pines had some left for stewing. I also picked up some fresh onions, potatoes, squash(for the Tin man), leeks, garlic, and ornamental gourds and pumpkins. Nothing like fresh local produce in the fall. That should keep us fed for a while.

Well after a busy domestic week I'm off to play in the studio for the afternoon. Who knows what will come of it today though. I'll keep you posted.

Country living

I love living in the country. And although Fall is not my favourite time of year I do look forward to seeing the deer each day as we are on their daily route for food. We have three crap apples in our yard starting to drop fruit so they circle our house to get their daily fix of apples. I rarely get photos of them because it's so hard to get out without being spotted or heard but somehow this morning I was quiet enough opening the front door and caught then almost unaware. I guess I was shaded enough that when they looked over they couldn't see me as I stood as stock still as they did. He stared right at me as I stared back. It was a magical moment for me.

Home Sweet Home

I made it home last night after a long days drive. So nice to sleep in my own bed.
This morning we had breakfast while the crows surrounded our house. This guy is watching me as I'm watching his buddies! At our house this is a sign of fall. We have farmers fields on 2 sides of us, so when the harvest is ready the crows come for the feast. I know, I know, it's not fall yet but I'm afraid the signs of it coming are definitely here. As we drove North to come home we could see the slow yellowing of the leaves on the trees. And even a few orange and red as we got closer to home.
So get out there and enjoy what summer we have left. Fall is just around the corner.

Thanksgiving

Well we're having a wonderful weekend for Thanksgiving and much to be thankful for. We had 2 great meals with family and some beautiful sunny weather. What more could we ask for. The morning air is becoming more crisp so it's time to get out there and in joy all the sunshine that we can.

Happy Thanksgiving.

Daisy

Well I know this isn't a fall picture. But I finally downloaded my picture from my camera from the last 2 months and installed Photoshop Elements to my computer and this is the picture that resulted from playing with it again. I have a lot to learn but cropping and making close up is well within my range. And a little tweaking with the sphere button is kind of fun and funky.

I think a fall car trip to take some colourful pictures is in order. The sun is peaking through the clouds this morning. Have a great day and don't forget to stop and check out the beautiful fall colours.
