On site ATC's

For this months ATC meeting we each had to bring a small baggie of ephemera to swap and make our card on site. We have started to try to do this about once a year because it is so much fun. Some of us were even able to make a few extras to use later in our yearly mega swap. So there isn't really a theme just the challenge of creating from someone else's stash. Here are the very fun and interesting result that happened.

It's interesting to see what someone else can create with your stash. I had to make sure when I photographing them to write down who's is who's since I see other peoples styles in them depending on what bag they got.
Hope you enjoyed our swap this month.

I had a great little group of ladies in the studio making Grungy mirrors yesterday. So much creativity and inspiration happening, Olive was on a roll and made 2 mirror. Love the creations they  finished.

If you haven't noticed already, the fall workshop is up  here. The next workshop is the word canvas on Sept. 6. Can't wait to see what words people choose to use for it.

Beachy ATC's

As a tribute to summer, this months ATC theme was Beach. They do make me long for a lovely relaxing beach day.

Fun finds

Usually it's the Tin Man that goes out to estate sales and auctions to bring home fun things for me but he's been so busy with baseball this summer that I'm starting to feel like a baseball widow! So I had to take it on myself to check out a tag sale this weekend to see what good deals he was missing and I think I did pretty good.
I think this will be good for sand paper and maybe some jewelry project in progress.

You may have notice that I have a thing for clocks and gears so when I spotted these on Kijiji I just had to check them out. And of course if I bought them all it was a much better deal? Now to decide which to keep for my collection and which to get the Tin Man to demolish for parts!
I don't usually buy little knick knacks and such but when I saw the inside of this mushroom it just had to come home with me.
Can you see Lord Byron(the lady bug) in his library?

And of course just a few more books for our library or possibly for altering!
This Davenport desk was the main reason I had to go check out the tag sale and to my surprise there didn't seem to be much interest in it and I was able to get it. Well I had to go just a little over the limit the Tin Man gave me. LOL.

So how is your summer going? Have you found any good deals?

Envelope ATC's

Well this month's ATC theme opened a whole new world of patterns for me. The theme was security envelopes. I have to admit that I never really noticed all the designs that are on the insides of some envelopes. So now I will be checking out and collecting envelopes with interesting designs on the inside. Take a look at how envelopes were used for this months ATC's.

A walk in the garden...

I am so lucky and grateful to live where I do. I love the peace and tranquillity of our country life. To start off my week today I took a short walk around the house with my camera to see what is in bloom at the moment and thank the universe for all that it has given me.
So I thought you might enjoy a little peek into my garden.

More fun with texture paste.

Have I mentioned that the Textured Grid Canvas workshop is my favourite workshop right now. Well if I haven't, now you know. I had a great little group of ladies in the studio today with so much creative power. Again some amazing results from this workshop.

I just can't get enough of all these texture pastes. I'm in the process of trying out some more brands of texture paste because apparently if I see it have to buy it. I have a few more coming my way in the near future so I see some new projects happening in my future.
