ATC Swap with a twist.

Usually for our monthly ATC meetings we have a theme and our cards are made at home, ready to swap during the meeting. But once a year we do a baggie swap ATC. This is where we all bring a small baggie of goodies and make our cards during the meeting. The last few years we did themes for our baggies and swapped baggies before making our ATC.  This year we decided to give it a new twist. We still swapped baggies before starting to make our ATCs but for an extra challenge we only had 10 minutes to work on our ATC and then we had to pass it to the person beside us who continued to work on it for another 10 minutes. We then passed it on to a third person to finish it up for another 10 minutes. This was a challenge but great fun. We had time to do this a second time with a quick swap of our baggies.
So each of these ATCs has been created by 3 people in the group.

Have you tried to do this kind of ATC challenge? Do you have suggestions for some other challenges for our group. If you do please give me a shout. We love a challenge!

Postcards from Canada

With so many things going on for Canada's 150th anniversary it was interesting to find a creative outlet as well. The Fort Gallery in Fort Langley, BC decided to do a postcard call out for Canadian artist of all ages. They received postcards from across Canada and each one was displayed in their Gallery and sold with all the proceeds going to Canadian Feed the Children First Nation Nutrition Program.
A few artist in our ATC group decided to join in. These are the postcards that we send to the Gallery.

Family Mementos Chunky Book Swap 2016

It's time for the big Chunky Book swap reveal for this year. If you don't already know, this is a swap I do with my ATC group each year. This years theme was Family Mementos. We had 9 people participating so we each had to do 9 pages. It makes for a great keepsake when we trade and get a page from each person. As you can see from the result we had a great time going through all those old family photos and ephemera. It was also great fun to hear the stories behind some of pages.

March ATC trade

For the first time ever our theme for this month was open to what ever people wanted to do. I wonder if this makes it easier or harder to decide what to make? I used a background that I had started for something else but didn't use it after all so I didn't find it that hard really, probably easier than having to start from scratch with a theme in mind. Lot's of fun variations with this one.

Great variations, so much fun to see what people chose when given the chance. Tomorrow is the big annual book swap reveal.

Self Image ATC's

Things got a little busy this month and I almost forgot to post the ATC swap we had. The theme was Self Image. It was really interesting to see the creations for each persons self image.

Dead Jewelry ATC

Yes the theme for this months ATC meeting was Dead Jewelry. This meant that we needed to use a piece of jewelry that was no longer used for it's original purpose, a broken necklace or a lonely earring missing it's match would work just fine. My first thought was 'I don't have any dead jewelry', but on looking through my 'this and that' box I discovered I had a collection of it. I used a single earring that the Tin Man said looked like a fish and it was done in no time. Can you spot the jewelry pieces in each ATC and figure out what they use to be?

Before starting my card I thought this was going to be a difficult one to do but it turned out to be fairly easy and I loved seeing what the others made with their Dead Jewelry.

Male Art ATC's

For our ATC group themes, we usually decide on a few of them so we are a bit ahead of the game and for those keeners in the group they can work ahead as it pleases them. I recall when we were discussing topics the idea of mail art came up but then someone ask if that was Mail art or Male art and it went back and forth as to which one it should be with some confusion in the end as to what we decided but it did actually become Male Art. So this is what was created with the Male Art theme.

For me this was a tough theme to work with and it ended up being one of those that got done the morning of the meeting. It sometimes seems odd that some themes are so inspiring while others are a struggle. Oh well, time to think about next months...
