More Auction finds

As promised here are more auction finds from the Tin Man.
This is a Gestetner wheel pen. David Gestetner was the inventor of this pen, a revolutionary new way to make copies of written documents in the early 1900's. So interesting to learn of how they had to do things over a hundred years ago that we take for granted. Any one know of an interesting use for a wheel pen now?
The Tin Man was told that these little bead monkeys are made from Jade. They're very roughly carved but do feel like they could be Jade.
I've been looking for some crystal salt and pepper shakers to store my glitter in but I guess the Tin Man just heard salt and pepper shakers. Oh well they are kind of neat, just have to figure out what I can do with them now! Any one have some ideas for using small salt and pepper shakers, well other then the obvious!!?
And then there is this cute little old box. I'm sure I can find something to store in it. I love just about any kind of box. This one has definitely been around the block a few times.

So there are the Tin Man's auction find this time. What do you think, have you found any interesting auction finds lately?

Auction finds.

The Tin Man was at an auction yesterday and brought home some more fun goodies for me. My favourite were all these buttons. I may need to find some more jars to sort them in!
I also loved the old tin that some of them came in.

I'll show you some more finds he got tomorrow.

Auction surprises.

The Tin man likes to go to auctions. Sometimes I go along but most of the time I let him go on his own and get the fun surprise of seeing what he comes home with each time. So this past weekend he went on his own and this is what he brought back.
First off is the butcher paper holder/cutter. I had recently ask him if he could make me something to hold a large paper roll so silly me I thought that's why he bought it but apparently not. He thought it would make a good display for my jewelry. So I'll have to play with it a little as a display and see how things look. What do you think paper holder or jewelry display?
When I looked at the auction items on line they had a lot of interesting old boxes, so I asked the Tin man to try to get me some and this is the one he got. I guess they are pretty popular right now and the prices were over his budget. It's bigger than I was thinking so I'm not sure what I'll use it for. I was thinking of some smaller ones for studio storage. What do you think? What would you use it for?
And the last item is a pair of wooden shoes. I think he just thought they were fun! I'll probably just put them in the front hall for now but I'm thinking they're big enough to use as some kind of storage in the studio!

Happy Creating!
