I hope everyone had a wonderful Holiday. I was happy to have my kids home for 2 weeks. We've had a great time with just a few more days to go. I did manage to do some creating too. I made this Necklace for my son with lots of his own creative input.
Well it's been busy busy trying to get ready for Christmas but I did manage to take a day to get together with friends to work on a few of the Tim Holtz tags. We had a great time and managed to get 3 tags done. They were pretty easy and a lot of fun. I learned some new techniques I'll use in other projects. Actually I couldn't sleep that night for thinking of how I was going to create some things with the background techniques. Hopefully I'll find some time to create over the holidays so I can get some sleep.
I've been enjoying watching the progression of Tim Holtz's 12 tags of Christmas and finally had to try one of his techniques. So here is a card I made using the tag #9 techniques.
It took me a while to work out the kinks in this necklace. Because it is made out of a glass tile and it doesn't have a hole to add a jump ring for the chain I had to wrap the back with embossed copper and hide a wire in between the copper and the tile. It worked out better that way since it needed something nice on the back anyway.
Here's a book that's been pushed around my studio for some time now. It started off being two separate pieces that came together to make this book. I did the metal embossing not knowing what I was going to put it on and I crackled the cover of the book without an idea to embellish it. So as they got shoved around they eventually came together as one. Destiny, this work better the less I try.
Well this is kind of different for me. I had this mirror that I painted and crackled a while back for no particular reason except that I had excess paint I didn't want to throw out. Over the last few days this piece just sort of evolved with word transfers and inking and grunge board. I wish every project worked like that.
Finally I'm blogging again. I have a few new things to show you but never enough time.
Well another craft show is over so I think this week will be a good blogging week. Here's a few pictures of out booth at the Stittsville show we just did on the weekend. It's always difficult to blend out different kinds of arts and crafts together but I think in the end it looked quite good.
I've made some more new jewelry and a jar angel that I'll post in the next couple of days.
