Gelli Plate fun

Have I told you how much I love playing with the Gelli Plate!! It's even more fun when I have students here learning to play along with me. Today's group of ladies did a great job of the Gelli Plate Layers workshop. In this workshop we go beyond the basics. We explore how to build up layers and be more intentional with our paint placement.

Gelli Plate workshop fun

I've probably said this before but it still holds true, Gelli Plate printing is just about my most favourite things to do right now. It is something that I get lost in and am totally consumed by it.
This past weekend I had a great time teaching a small group of ladies how to do my layering technique on the Gelli Plate. They did some amazing work. Some pieces are finished and some will continue to be added to or used in other piece of art.

Gelli Plate Workshop

One of my favourite things to do these days is play with my Gelli Plate. So it was great fun to spend the day teaching these ladies the ins and outs of using a Gelli Plate yesterday. As you can see they made lots of prints and at the end of the day I showed them how to make a small book with one of their prints.

Encore to Gelli Plate workshop

I had another great group of women in for the Gelli Plate Printing workshop yesterday. Already having a Gelli Plate of their own they jumped right in and made lots of prints but still found time to put together this fun book at the end of the day.

Fun Gelli Plate day.

Yesterday I taught my first Gelli Plate workshop and we had a blast. I had a great group of creative women who were not afraid to play and experiment with colours and techniques which is what the Gelli plate is all about. At the end of the day of making prints we took some time to put together these fun and easy books.

So everyone went home with a hand made book and many pages of mono prints to use for other projects. Thanks ladies you made this first off class an easy one.

My fun little houses.

I shared a couple of my pages on facebook last week from the chunky book swap I participated in last month and people really seemed to enjoy them, so I thought I'd show them all here. The theme for the swap was streetscapes. You can view the other participants pages here.

As you can probably guess I really liked this theme and had a great time making my pages. I still have houses in my head, so I think there is going to be some more house inspired creations in my future.

My Wings chunky book pages.

And to continue yesterdays post of this years Wings chunky book swap, here are my pages. As you can see the Wendy faerie made a reappearance.

I think the favourite part of doing these for me was the background. They were all done with my Gelli Plate. Once I got started making pages for these backgrounds it was hard to stop. I ended up doing both sides of the pages and had lots of extras. Now I just have to figure out what to create with all the extra.
