Into the Black Dimensions...

Today was the first time teaching the Black Dimensions workshop. Teaching a class the first time can sometimes be a little tricky. I don't always know how long things will take the group and what is the best order to do things in. So in a way the students are kind of my guinea pigs for getting things figured out. Today felt like that kind of day and my students were wonderfully patient with me and did an amazing job. We did a lot of different techniques and used a lot of different mediums to make these creations. Thank you ladies for a great day.

A Moment in Time.

I wish I could name all my workshops 'A moment in time'! It's like the whole world stops while I come together to teach a group of students something creative. While they are in the studio nothing else matters. We delve into the world of creativity. Yesterdays canvas workshop was just like that. I had a great group of ladies here in the studio to create these wonderful canvases. I love how each made a truly unique canvas with similar techniques.

Altered Books

I am still continuing each month with my challenges. This month it's all about altering books. I started to alter a few of them years ago, so it's been a lot of fun getting back at them. A lot of my Creative Studio students have joined me as well.
The one above is an older one that I just added a few things to, to finish it up.
Getting the book ready to work in it is the hardest part. It takes time and patience to glue pages together so they are strong enough to work with or to make niches, windows or doors.
The niche is cut out and them the pages glued together.

A transparency is used for this window.
Here is the niche page finished. The other one is still a work in progress.

A favourite of mine.
This one got very dimensional but that is the charm of an altered book. You can do anything you want in it.
If you'd like to see more or join in the fun head over to Dragonfly Dreamers Monthly Challenge fb group.

Well I have to get back at it. So many pages to alter in these books.

Happy Creating!

Imagination is Boundless workshop

In the last year or two I have been exploring the creation of dimensional canvases. I often call them altered art because so many thing on them are altered from their original purpose. Almost nothing is sacred and cannot be used on a piece of altered art. So now I enjoy teaching my process of creating these canvases to others.
Yesterday I was in the company of 3 wonderfully creative ladies while teaching them the Imagination is Boundless canvas workshop. Just see what a wonderful job they did.

Now I'm off to finish the canvas I started during the workshop and maybe start a few more projects floating around in my head. Wish me luck!

Keep Creating.
