Acrylic Pour time again.

It was time for another Acrylic Pour workshop Yesterday. As usual it was great fun. I love seeing the colour combinations that people choose. I never get tired of seeing the magic of the pour. Today's students did a great job.

Christian's Art

Well we managed to get son #1 all moved and what a job that turned out to be. How can one so young have already accumulated so much stuff. He does come from pack rat stock and in that he does accelerate. He's about to start his third year at Sheridan Collage in Visual and Creative arts. For those art followers out there you can appreciate how much stuff we need for our creative ways. If only the Tin man could appreciate it as much! Here is Christian with his large piece of art from last year. He and the Tin man just finished putting it up on the wall and here the Tin man is fixing his coffee table that had a small mishap during the move.
Here is the complete piece which covers the whole wall in their new living room. As you can see he is the one who has taught me about steam punk.

So with that job done and we're back home, I have the week to make jewelry in preparation for this weekends upcoming show. I'll be at the Fibrefest in Almonte all weekend. I'll give you the hours in an upcoming post.

Have a great day.

Busy but still creating.

Yes I'm still here! Again the last few weeks have just flown by. I've been busy but productive.

I've been bringing some of my other creations to the Market along with my jewelry this summer and have gotten a lot of positive feed back and sold a few too, so I decided to make a few more.

I had started the background for this one a while back and had intended to put flowers and such on like I did the others of this colour but when I got going at it again this is what happened. I tend to not worry about sticking to a plan when working on a creation. I like to just go with the flow and if it's not the idea I intended I can always try the original idea again another time. It felt a little simple just putting the hinges and key hole on but nothing else came to me so I left it alone.

What do you think, what else can I put on the frame or should I leave well enough alone?

I've got a few more things I've finished up this week. I promise it won't take me too long to get them posted this time.

I'm off to another Market tomorrow morning. Sheila and I are going to try the North Gower Farmers Market and see what it's like. It's a really nice market in an old barn. Very charming! Come on out and visit us. We're there from 8:30am to 1pm.

Words Canvas

It seems to be the week to get things finished for me. Actually I started this canvas this week too but it's been in my head for a while. So once I got started I couldn't let it go til it was finished. I think with a few changes this will make a fun workshop.

Well you'd think after all the letters, numbers and word projects that I've done lately that I would have gotten them out of my system but it just doesn't seem to be the case. I have another idea
for a word canvas. Almost the same but with different ways of making the words. Also I think I'll do another letters mirror that's more random so it will look better hanging beside the numbers mirror. But first I need to finish another project I started a while ago and got stuck on. It's a shadow box with kind of a mosaic background. When I was working with the metal embossing the other day the solution for the shadow box came to me. So I'm off to try and finish another project this week. If I get it finished it's got to make a record for how many projects I've ever finished in one week. LOL.

Numbers Mirror

I finally finished the numbers mirror I started a while ago. This was suppose to go with my letters mirror I did a while back but it's a lot more random and has a bit of a different feel to it. I might end up doing another letters one to put up together. For now though I'm working on a similar canvas but with words and saying. I should have it done this week to get it posted here.

I've been playing with my camera again, so here's an angle picture to see the depth of the numbers. The number pad at the top is from a calculator and for the # 1 I used my new Chocolate Brown metal and Big Daddy mold from Ten Second Studio. I think this metal is going to be finding it's way into a lot of my projects in the near future. Lot's of fun.

Letters mirror

I had a lot of fun with this mirror. Again I just did the background without knowing what I was going to put on it. The letters just seemed right. Now I want to make it on canvas and make a series with numbers and words.

Nature mirror

Well this is kind of different for me. I had this mirror that I painted and crackled a while back for no particular reason except that I had excess paint I didn't want to throw out. Over the last few days this piece just sort of evolved with word transfers and inking and grunge board. I wish every project worked like that.
