Open Studio this weekend

The time has come again for my Spring Open Studio. Come by for a coffee and meet a few local artist and artisans. As usual there will be a door prize from each participant, so you will have 5 chances to win. I have received photo's of most of the door prizes this week, so I thought I'd tease you a bit with them here!

Earrings from Dragonfly Dreamers

The 'Bees Knees' quilting kit from Quirks and Quilts.

Hand made journal with initial on cover from Sheila Cain-Sample.

Art card titled 'Imagine' from Collage Your World.

I don't have a photo of the door prize from Clare's Old Farmhouse soap but you know it's going to involve her amazing hand made soap that I'm always getting requests for. I've even got the Tin Man asking for it!

If this isn't tantalizing enough for you there will be many workshop items on display for registering as well as my usual purge table and creative supplies for sale.

While you're in the neighborhood don't forget to give yourself enough time to visit Jambulani's Vineyard and Winery just around the corner from us for a wine tasting too.

Look forward to seeing you in the Studio.
Happy Creating!
Wendy

Another 2013 update.

Wendy Southin in her beautiful country garden… after I snapped this photo, as if on cue, a dragonfly came and rested on her hand... it was like something right out of fairy tale!
Some of you may already have seen this since I did share it on facebook. So this is for those that didn't... I had my first blog interview with my good friend Michelle Casey of Collage Your World last summer. Michelle is an amazing collage artist and a great interviewer. She made it so easy for my first time although I was still thinking about and reworking some of the answers long after the interview. As usual Michelle made me think in all new ways.
The interview is in two part, ya really can you believe it, two blog posts just about me!
So here is part one.
Wendy Southin's studio is a dream come true. Last year she relocated it from the basement to the first floor of her home. It’s a big, bright cozy space for creating in and hosting workshops.

And here is part two.
Wendy Southin's hands… small, delicate yet also strong and agile… these fingers can do the most intricate bead and jewellery work.

That was my two seconds of fame for 2013. I'm looking forward and wondering what 2014 has in store for me and Dragonfly Dreamers.

Happy Creating!
Wendy

Exciting week ahead...

Wendy Southin, Vision Board, November 2010, 16 x 20 inches
I'm looking forward to this week. Some new things are happening for me and I'm so glad you're here to share them with me.

This week my vision board is being featured by Michelle over at Collage Your World. A few months ago I was lucky enough to have Michelle come into my studio to teach a vision board workshop. It was wonderful to get a group of like minded people together and work on our vision boards together. I learned how to make a vision board and it began me on a journey that still continues. Read more about it here.

Stop by tomorrow to see what else new is happening to me this week.
